The majority of our Olives are fresh, unpasteurised and imported from family run farms, using traditional methods. We visit our suppliers in Greece several times a year to ensure that all production is to a high standard and to source exciting new products. This enables us to develop a close working relationship with our suppliers who have helped us develop an exclusive range of stuffed and marinated products.
The Olive Oils we source are of exceptionally high quality, the trees grow on the hills surrounding Ermioni, a small fishing town on the east coast of the Peleponnese. The Olives grown in this region produce a fruity, slightly peppery oil, which is perfectly balanced.
We also source fantastic products from France and Italy. Our range includes succulent grilled mushrooms and aubergines, Genovese Pesto, 36 month matured Parmigiano Regiano, Lavender Honey from Provence and a host of other regional delicacies.
Olives are picked between October and January and arrive at our warehouse in the New Year. Green olives are picked first, the dark olives ripen naturally on the trees. Like the grapes of a vineyard, the changing environmental conditions affect the quality and quantity of the harvest. The fresh crop has a lively, tangy, slightly bitter flavour. As the olives mature towards the end of the year, the olives become milder and creamier.
Our Olives come packed in a variety of sizes, in a brine solution or vacuum packed in oil which preserves them at ambient temperature for up to a year. Once opened olives will keep for at least 3 months if kept covered in brine or oil.
Our customers range from independent bars and restaurants to delicatessens and market traders across the south west of England and beyond. We can also supply large quantities of goods to the wholesale market and through close relationships with our producers are able to develop specific products and own label brands to suit customer requirements. We offer a free delivery service to our wholesale customers within the Bristol/Bath area. For the rest of England, we use overnight couriers. For pallets under 120Kg there is a £10 delivery charge and for pallets over that weight, it's £20. For customers outside of England, delivery charges will vary.
